My Rodan and Fields team is called Team on Mission because we are on a mission to love and support each other here at home and across the world. We pour into, lift up and empower each other lead and live with confidence from the Inside Out.
Pokot Outreach Ministry
One of my passions is supporting the forgotten people of Western Kenya, the Pokot. The Pokot are incredibly impoverished, neglected, marginalized and without access to clean drinking water. My church has partnered with the Pokot Outreach Ministry to provide HOPE –one fresh water well at a time.
In 2016, Jeff and I sponsored Miriam, a young girl from the Pokot tribe. We invited her to stay at our home for a year. Not only was it a rewarding experience for Miriam but it was a fulfilling time for us as her hosts.
I’m grateful for my Rodan and Fields business and my Team on Mission which allows me to pour into others in so many different ways. A few months ago, we held a Hydration and Hops fundraising event. At the event, we featured the Rodan and Fields Active Hydration Serum and Jeff’s craft beers with a portion of the proceeds going to the HOPE Water Project.
I encourage you to check out the HOPE Water International website. Through HOPE, communities and villages grow strong. The people are healthier and living longer, and thousands of people hear the Gospel for the first time.
In 2001, I went on a mission trip to Brazil with the organization called ESTHERs Children. ESTHERs Children’s mission field is in Vera Cruz Brazil and helps the fight against sexual exploitation and child prostitution with girls between the ages of four and eighteen.
The incredible ladies of ESTHERs Children, are Emily Henschel Sutherland, and Jennifer Sutherland. Thank you for letting me take part in the great work you do to help the children and women of Brazil through your non-profit organization.
On the trip, I met the beautiful women and children of Vera Cruz who want to take care of themselves, their families and their communities. It was a life-changing trip.
I am honored to be a small part of a new aspect of ESTHERs called Threads of ESTHERs. By teaching women how to sew, this new mission will help women in Vera Cruz start their own micro-businesses to support themselves and their families.
The apron pictured here is just one of the adorable aprons for sale through ESTHERs. If you are interested in purchasing an apron, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact me through the online form.
What’s your mission? How can you use your special time, talents and treasures to lift up someone else? As a matter of fact, both big and small acts of kindness matter.
It doesn’t matter if you are a team on a mission of one or 71. Anything one person does for another is significant. It doesn’t matter if you donate to the Salvation Army, give extra fabric to women in Brazil or run a marathon to support wells in Africa. Everything one thing, big or small, matters.
You never know who you’ll impact or what impact you can make on a community near or far.
